In 1959, a rescue squad was formed.  A donation of $1 was made to the Anchorage Police Department of Westchester County for the purchase of a 1941 Cadillac.  They operated very successfully until 1967 when through the generosity of the residents of the Grand Gorge Fire District, the squad purchased a new 1967 Chevrolet station wagon which was fully equipped.  Officers and members were William Ellis, Captain; Joseph Magro, 1st Lieutenant and Treasurer, Gerry O’Gorman, 2nd Lieutenant and Secretary, Joseph Tubiolo, Don Brainard and Joseph Chester.  All members took the first aid course form Dr. S. J. Naso.  Members during that time included:  Mamie Gockel, Helen Brenn, Reverend Terwilliger, Betty Becker, Bob McCracken, and Justin Marshall.  The squad organized under the former chief Frank Kolts.  

In 1987 a new E350 Ford chassis Wheeled Coach ambulance was purchased.  At the time, Captain was Marguerite Alberti.  In 2006, a new E450 Ford chassis Horton was purchased.  Co-Captains were Dottie Carroll and Karen Hinkley.   A complete list of members over the past years include, but may not be limited to, the following:
